The role AutoTrust plays - and the role it does not.
Last updated: 1 July 2026
AutoTrust JA is a vehicle ownership, compliance, document-storage, reminder, concierge and verification platform. We help members organize vehicle documents, track renewal dates, request operator support, source local parts, record service history, and, where available, coordinate vehicle-related tasks. AutoTrust is not a government agency, insurer, lender, broker, law firm, tax adviser, mechanic, warrantor, or seller of any vehicle unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
AutoTrust provides renewal reminders for registration, fitness certificates, and insurance as a convenience tool only. You remain solely responsible for complying with all legal and regulatory requirements, including ensuring that your vehicle registration, fitness certificate, and insurance are valid at all times. AutoTrust reminders do not constitute legal advice and do not guarantee that your obligations are met. Reminder delivery depends on accurate dates being saved in the app and may be affected by network or service interruptions.
AutoTrust provides document storage as a convenience feature. We do not verify the authenticity, accuracy, or currency of any document you upload. Stored documents are not legally certified copies. Any dates or details you enter from uploaded files must still be reviewed by you before use. You should always retain your own physical or certified copies of important vehicle documents. AutoTrust is not responsible for any consequence arising from reliance on stored documents.
When you ask AutoTrust to help with a renewal, fitness fee, document request, parts search, or other vehicle task, you authorize AutoTrust staff or service providers to use the information you provide for that specific request. We may ask you to confirm details, provide missing information, approve costs, or complete an owner-only step such as a one-time password, government login, signature, inspection visit, or direct payment. AutoTrust does not guarantee that any renewal, certificate, inspection, insurance cover, payment, appointment, or government transaction will be completed by a particular date.
Some requests may involve a government fee, insurer premium, inspection fee, supplier charge, delivery cost, or other third-party cost. Those amounts are separate from any AutoTrust service fee. Where AutoTrust collects money to pay a third party on your behalf, you authorize AutoTrust to use that amount for the stated purpose, and we will treat it as a pass-through disbursement rather than AutoTrust revenue. We will aim to confirm itemized costs before work begins, but official fees and supplier prices may change or be corrected by the relevant third party.
If AutoTrust offers a vehicle-specific renewal inbox or email address, we will use it only with your consent for the vehicle and purpose you approve. You authorize AutoTrust to receive, store, process and attach renewal-related messages, receipts, certificates, insurance documents and similar files to your account or vehicle vault. You must not use an AutoTrust inbox for unrelated personal email. AutoTrust may withdraw or change inbox addresses if needed for security, abuse prevention, deliverability, or compliance.
Do not share government portal passwords with AutoTrust unless we explicitly request a lawful, secure method for a specific supported workflow. If a government, insurer, or supplier system requires owner-only credentials, OTPs, TRN details, MVID, certificate numbers, licence details, or similar sensitive information, you are responsible for providing accurate information and confirming that AutoTrust may use it for the requested service. AutoTrust may refuse a request if we believe the access method is unsafe, unlawful, misleading, or not permitted by the relevant portal terms.
Service records, repairs, parts replacements, odometer readings, receipts and notes saved in AutoTrust are user-provided or operator-entered records. They are intended to help organize a vehicle's history, not to certify mechanical condition, mileage, workmanship, or future reliability. A buyer, insurer, lender, or mechanic should still perform their own checks before relying on a vehicle history record.
Every AutoTrust Verified Report is a limited-scope, point-in-time assessment drawn from registry, fitness, import records and a partner inspection. It is not a warranty, guarantee, or official certification, and does not replace the buyer's own due diligence.
AutoTrust does not own vehicle inventory and does not take custody of vehicle purchase funds. If AutoTrust assists with a vehicle transaction, purchase funds should move through a licensed attorney's trust account, verified payment-on-delivery, bank manager's cheque, or another approved third-party rail. AutoTrust charges for tools, coordination, verification and support, not custody of purchase funds.
Financing and insurance are referrals to licensed partner lenders, brokers and insurers. AutoTrust earns a flat referral or marketing fee - never a commission requiring a licence we do not hold. We do not underwrite loans, approve credit, bind insurance, issue policies, or give regulated financial advice.
AutoTrust may show clearly labelled partner, sponsored partner, or verified partner recommendations for vehicle-related services such as parts, batteries, repairs, inspection preparation, financing or insurance referrals. A paid placement does not by itself mean AutoTrust guarantees that provider's pricing, availability, workmanship, policy terms, advice, or outcome. Regulated services remain subject to the provider's own licence, terms, eligibility checks and disclosures.
Paid memberships and add-ons unlock the features shown at checkout or in your account. Access may be activated automatically through a payment provider or manually by an operator after a bank transfer, cash payment, or other approved payment is confirmed. A bank-transfer screenshot or receipt is a payment claim, not confirmation that funds settled; AutoTrust may require the exact reference and a matching settled bank entry before activation. Unless a specific offer says otherwise, government fees, insurer premiums, inspections, parts, repairs, delivery and other third-party charges are not included in an AutoTrust membership fee. Refunds, credits or cancellations may be handled case by case where required by law or expressly stated in the applicable offer.
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your contact details current, and use AutoTrust only for lawful vehicle-related purposes. You must not upload false, stolen, forged, abusive, infringing, malicious or unrelated content. We may suspend or remove access where needed to protect users, staff, partners, government systems, or the platform.
AutoTrust processes personal information as described in our Privacy Notice. When you upload documents, request operator assistance, start or complete a payment, or use another consent-based workflow, we may record timestamps, account identifiers, vehicle identifiers, request details and operator activity so we can provide the service, support you, prevent abuse, and keep an audit trail.
AutoTrust may use automated tools, including AI-assisted extraction or drafting, to help prepare document details, support notes, or message replies. These tools are assistive only. They may be incomplete or wrong, do not replace human review, and do not create any warranty, certification, or promise of accuracy.
AutoTrust is provided on an “as-is” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of reminders, document storage, document previews, renewal support, operator response, notifications, third party portals, or any other feature. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AutoTrust is not liable for missed renewals, expired certificates, lapsed insurance, fines, vehicle downtime, lost documents, lost profits, indirect loss, or any other loss arising from inaccurate information, service interruption, user error, third-party delay, portal failure, or reliance on AutoTrust as a substitute for your own legal and vehicle compliance responsibilities.
We may update these Terms as AutoTrust changes. If a change is material, we may notify you in the app, by email, by WhatsApp, or through another reasonable channel. Your continued use of AutoTrust after the updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
